Kindergarten:

Holidays

By the end of the school year, students in Kindergarten will be able to: Identify all of the major and many of the minor holidays celebrated by each faith. They will also know and say at least one prayer from each faith.

Beginning with Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the children will learn about each holiday and do a hands-on activity to reinforce learning. Children will learn the stories (Biblical or traditional) that inspire each holiday and will experience the rituals that help us to celebrate each holiday. Projects may include: food preparation, making ritual objects and creating holiday decorations. Children will also learn the songs that accompany some of the holidays.
